The federal government has approved a new round of free COVID-19 tests for the public. Tests can be ordered through covidtests.gov or special.USPS.com/testkits, or by calling 800-232-0233 (TTY 888-720-7489).
Customers will receive four rapid antigen COVID-19 tests. Tests will begin shipping the week of Oct. 2.
One of the available options is the Orasure InteliSwab test, which is more accessible for people who are blind or have low vision, as well as people who have low manual dexterity.

Expiration Dates Extended
Some of the tests may show expiration dates on the box that have passed; however, the Food and Drug Administration has extended those dates. A leaflet in each package will explain the extension, and the envelopes will have yellow stickers on the front alerting recipients to the leaflet inside.
