The legislative session ended at noon on Saturday with a surprise veto override vote in the House on the final morning. The vote wasn’t duplicated in the Senate so the veto stands, but override votes are rare in the New Mexico Legislature so this one was noteworthy – and notably unanimous. The governor has already signed several bills that were sent up to her during the session. She now has until Friday, April 11 to act on remaining bills passed by the Legislature. And then we’ll all be watching to see if she calls a special session for later in the year… The Disability Coalition’s post-session legislative report is attached to wrap up the session’s activity.
