Disability Rights Awareness Days

This message is from Ellen Pinnes and The Disability Coalition.

We hope you’ll join us for Disability Rights Awareness Days activities in connection with the 2025 session of the New Mexico Legislature.  The annual pre-session forum will be held on January 11 in Albuquerque and Roundhouse Day is scheduled for February 13.  Mark these dates in your calendar and plan to join us for DRAD 2025!

Pre-Legislative-Session Forum

Saturday, January 11, 2025
CNM Workforce Training Center
5600 Eagle Rock Avenue NE, Albuquerque

The forum will include a morning plenary and afternoon breakout sessions covering issues that are expected in the legislative session and other topics of interest to the disability community.  This will be a great opportunity to learn about issues affecting people with disabilities and their families, and to network with others in the disability community.

Roundhouse Day

Thursday, February 13, 2025
State Capitol, Santa Fe

At the Roundhouse, we’ll have a gathering in the Rotunda and everyone is encouraged to spend much of the day at the Capitol – browsing the exhibit tables, meeting with legislators, touring the building, and watching the Legislature in action.  And of course, it’s a time to see old friends and make new ones!  We’ll be sending out more information in the coming weeks.  We hope you’ll join members of the disability community from around New Mexico to learn about issues in the Legislature, make new contacts, and participate in policymaking that affects persons with disabilities.

We look forward to seeing many of you at the DRAD 2025 Pre-Session Forum and Roundhouse Day!
